Two football guessing games: a wordle built on players' surnames, and a game where every guess tells you how close you are to the answer.

How the two football games differ

Football Wordle hides a surname and gives you six tries, with green and yellow squares as in Wordle. Every guess has to be one of the 895 surnames on the list, and the grid shows how long the answer is before you start. Players are filed into three eras, so you can stick to the years you watched.

Guess the Footballer draws from the same 895 players. Each guess comes back as a row of five columns, nationality, league, club, position and age, each coloured by how close it is, and you have eight guesses.
